My sister Edna and brother-in-law Charles are homeowners in FL.  There house is 4 miles away from our property in Marianna and they will move years before me!  However, it will give the opportunity to visit more often in the heat of summer and not cancel a trip due to cold weather :)

Edna and Charles are looking for a home in the panhandle. Their first attempt in April was unsuccessful. Hopefully when we meet again in June their second attempt will not be a disappointment.

WHEN

Longing to see the property. How can it be there and me here with so much time between visits!

prescribed burn

Made it to the property last week-end to see the presribed burn that was less than a week old. It allowed us to clean up around the camp without my worry of hidden snakes amoungst palmetto bushes. There were 5 fires going to finishes burning tree debris left over from putting the road in to camp. Been wanting to that for 2 years but worried about spreading the fire. Shazzzaam no worry of snakes or spreading fire and I worked to exhaustion with wonderful results. It was a pleasant feeling to sit and see my efforts look so good around the camp site. We had great weather, and was grateful all the warm clothes packed were needed only in the evening. Might I add without the need of a coat!

Christmas 2010

It was Christmas in a pine forest and the 26th there was a few flakes of snow! Two nights of 22 degrees in a metal shed with an extremely small propane heater was the only negative part of our 4 day stay.

Christmas on the Land

We will finally spend Christmas at the Panhandle property. Being there will give us some good ol' Christmas spirit!

Ready to return

Looking forward to the next trip up to the property. When can I find time to get there? Scheduled to work every Saturday puts a wrench into our plans.
